Thai AirAsia got Nepal flight permit

Thai AirAsia under AirAsia Group has received permission to fly from Thailand to Nepal. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAN) has given approval to Thai AirAsia to operate four flights a week from Bhairahawa and three from Kathmandu.

Thai AirAsia sought permission to fly from Bangkok to Kathmandu seven days a week (one daily) from 20 September 2024. However, information officer of CAN, Gyanendra Bhul, said that permission to fly from four Gautam Buddha International Airports and three Tribhuvan International Airports has been granted.

“Since November 1, Tribhuvan Airport has been closed for 10 hours for upgrading. As the airport will be open for 14 hours only, the capacity will be reduced,” he said, “Therefore, permission has been given to fly from Kathmandu and Bhairahawa.”
