Kathmandu. The number of doctors in Nepal has reached 45,498. This is the data up to the end of push 2080.
According to the economic survey of the financial year 2080/081 presented by Finance Minister Varshman Pun Ananth in both houses of the Federal Parliament on Sunday, 30 thousand 27 medical doctors, 4 thousand 883 dentists and 10 thousand 588 specialist doctors are registered in Nepal Medical Council. Out of which 64.1 percent are men and 35.9 percent are women.
During the same period, 1 lakh 22 thousand 313 nurses of different categories have been registered with Nepal Nursing Council. According to the survey, there are 1.20 doctors and 2.83 nurses in Nepal per thousand population. This is higher than the standard set by the World Health Organization. As of phalgun 2079, 1 lakh 2 thousand 686 health workers including doctors, nurses, health workers, doctors, health assistants and women health volunteers are affiliated to the government government service.
By Phalgun of the current financial year, it has been seen that 46 million 56 thousand services have been provided by government and private health institutions including internal, external and emergency services. During the same period of the last financial year, such service was performed 28.88 million times.
