Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada will host the next summit of G-7 leaders in 2025 in Kananskis, Alberta.
This will be the seventh time Canada has hosted the summit. Kananaskis, famous for recreation and tourism in the Rocky Mountains, is 75 km west of Calgary.
In 2002, it also hosted the 28th G-7 Summit. The final communique of the summit announced that Russia would become a de facto full member of the group.
