The US imposed a 104 percent tariff on China

Kathmandu — US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional 50% tariff on China. Now the total tariff on China has reached 104 percent. This means that Chinese goods coming into the US will now be subject to a 104 percent import tariff.
The US President’s office said in a statement from the White House, ‘This step was taken after China announced that it would take revenge against the US.’
At the beginning of his second term, Trump imposed a 20% tariff on China. After this, when Trump announced tariffs on the entire world, China was hit with an additional 34 percent. Now, after the 50 percent tariff, the total import tariff has reached 104 percent.
Trump said on Monday that he would impose additional tariffs of 50 percent on China if it does not withdraw its tariffs on US goods.
In response to Trump’s statement, China’s Ministry of Commerce said that it will not accept American ‘blackmail’ and will fight it to the end.
