Kathmandu: Three American soldiers were killed in a drone attack on an American military base in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border. Thirty-four people were injured.
The US government said the dead were Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, Specialist Kennedy Ladon Sanders and Specialist Breona Alexandria Moffett. They were reportedly killed when a drone crashed into the housing unit.
US President Joe Biden has accused Iran-backed groups of being involved in the attack. This attack is considered the most dangerous since the Israel-Hamas war since October 7.
Prior to the attack, groups based in Iraq and Syria had carried out more than 150 attacks on US forces. In which at least seventy people were injured. Hundreds of American soldiers are stationed in Jordan as trainers
