Today is World Youth Skills Day

Kathmandu. World Youth Skills Day is celebrated every year on July 15 with the aim of strengthening the socio-economic conditions of the youth. In Nepal, this day is also being celebrated with various programs.

In December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate the day on the 15th of July. This day is also celebrated with the aim of addressing the growing trend of unemployment or not getting employment according to the qualifications around the world.

Active participation of youth in the economic, social, political and educational fields of the country is found. The presence of youth in agriculture, manufacturing and labor sector is also large. Many young people are concentrating in the cities and migrating abroad in search of study, employment, livelihood and opportunities.
According to the data of Nepal Census 2078, the population of youth in the age group of 16 to 40 years is 42.56 percent. The young people who make up almost half of the population of Nepal are dying due to the neglect of the state.
