US President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will impose new tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada as soon as he takes office. Trump will be sworn in as president on January 20. Trump announced the tariffs on these three countries on the first day of his term. Trump said that he will sign a decision to impose a 20 percent tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada. Similarly, he has announced that he will sign the decision to impose an additional 10 percent tax on goods imported from China.
A large number of immigrants from Mexico and Canada enter the United States illegally. During his first term, Trump tried to stop such immigrants. Now, by imposing taxes on these countries, Trump has pressured them to stop immigration. Trump claims that drugs are being brought in illegally from Mexico and Canada along with immigrants. Trump says that the tariffs on imported goods will remain in effect until both countries work to stop this situation.
Similarly, Trump has said that he will impose additional taxes on drugs coming into the US from China. During the campaign, Trump threatened to impose 100% tariffs on Mexico and China. Agency
