Agency. Turkish police detained 51 suspected members of the Islamic State (IS) group in a nationwide operation, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said.
Yerlikaya said the suspects were detained in 17 provinces, including Istanbul, Antalya, Gaziantep and Afyonkarahisar. Turkey has stepped up its operations against IS terrorists after they attacked a church in Istanbul in late January.
On Sunday alone, a civilian was killed collectively. The Turkish government designated ISIS as a terrorist organization in 2013. Since 2015, it has been convicted of deadly attacks in the country.
