Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for quick and uninterrupted humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip and the release of people held hostage by Hamas.
“We are in a critical situation in the Middle East in such an uneasy situation. As the Secretary General of the United Nations, it is my duty to make these two humanitarian appeals,” he said. . Rapid and uninterrupted access to such humanitarian aid should be provided.”
Saying that these two objectives are valid in themselves, he said that it should not be used as a bargaining chip.
Secretary-General Guterres said that the United Nations has stockpiles of food, water, non-food items, medicine, and fuel in Egypt, Jordan, the West Bank and Israel, and these items can be sent in a few moments
