Inside the Mysterious World of ‘Vishad’

Mumbai  : Steeped in nostalgia, confrontation, and deep psychological intrigue, the trailer of the short film ‘Vishad’ has been released on social media and is receiving an overwhelming response from viewers. Starring Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajeshwar, and Ketaki Narayan, the film is slated for release on January 16, 2026, and is already being counted among the most anticipated short films of the season.

The 1-minute-26-second trailer opens on an evocative and emotional note. An elderly man switches on his old radio, and a popular Bengali song fills the silence of the room. The moment is soaked in nostalgia, hinting at buried memories and an underlying sense of unease. However, the calm is short-lived.

The narrative takes a sharp turn when a police inspector arrives at the house of Dr. Anadi Sen to conduct an investigation. When the doctor firmly refuses to allow the inspection, a tense confrontation unfolds. The inspector’s warning of possible arrest and the sharp exchange of words point toward a deep, unspoken secret lurking beneath the surface.
Running parallel to this tension is another emotional thread—a volatile relationship between a couple that escalates toward divorce. Adding to the mystery is the fleeting appearance of a strange child, further deepening the psychological complexity of the story.

Sharing his thoughts, Ashish Vidyarthi says, “Vishad is not just a short film; it’s an emotion—raw, layered, and introspective. The real story lies in the silences between the scenes.”
Rajeshwar, who plays the police inspector, adds that the film doesn’t merely ask questions but challenges the audience to confront uncomfortable truths.
Produced by Nilanjan Rita Dutta under the banner of Finchbill Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Navnita Sen, this psychological short film will premiere on Pocket Films’ YouTube channel on January 16, 2026, where mystery, emotion, and conflict collide head-on.
