Zelensky’s confession that 43 thousand Ukrainians have been killed in the war so far

This is a rare admission from any side about casualties in the Russia-Ukraine war. The Ukrainian president also reported in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that 370,000 Ukrainians have been wounded on the battlefield. Zelensky said that this number of wounded includes soldiers who were wounded more than once and those who were lightly wounded.
“Ukraine has lost 43,000 soldiers on the battlefield since the start of the full-scale war. Similarly, 370,000 have been provided with assistance for the treatment of the wounded. It should be noted that almost half of the wounded soldiers later returned to the battlefield. In addition, casualty figures include minor injuries and repeated injuries,” Zelensky wrote in X’s post. In his post, Zelensky did not fail to claim that Russia suffered greater casualties than Ukraine. He said that about 198,000 Russian soldiers were killed in the war and 550,000 were wounded.
Russia and Ukraine have not disclosed much about the number of military casualties on their side in the ongoing war. However, the level of casualties on the part of the opposition has been exaggerated.
After newly elected US President Donald Trump claimed on social media that Ukraine had “lost 400,000 soldiers” in the war, Zelensky appeared to be forced to release his figures. Some time ago, Trump wrote that “400,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 600,000 Russian soldiers were killed” in this unnecessary war. Trump did not say where he got the figures from.
The new figures show an increase in Ukrainian deaths since the beginning of the year. Earlier in February, Zelensky said that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed on the battlefield.
