Kathmandu-– At least 100 people have died in an attack by a paramilitary group in North Darfur, Sudan.
According to the United Nations, more than 100 people died when the paramilitary group Rapid Support Force (RSF) attacked a camp of people displaced by starvation in El Fasr, the capital of North Darfur state.
Al Jazeera reported that 20 children and nine aid workers were among the dead.
United Nations official Clementine Nkweta-Salami released a statement on Saturday that the RSF and its allied armed groups attacked Jamzam and Abu Shorooq camps near El-Fasr city, the capital of North Darfur province. The authority said that the attack took place on Friday and Saturday and nine aid workers who were manning the health post at Jamzam camp were killed.
The group carried out the attack using a suicide drone. According to UN data, Jamzam and Abu Shuk camps are home to more than seven million displaced people from previous conflicts in Darfur. It is said that this incident has deepened the humanitarian crisis in that region.(Edited)Restore original Agency
