10,000 foreign tourists to visit Manaslu region in 2024

Gorkha. More than 10,000 foreign tourists have visited Manaslu region of North Gorkha in a year. Conservation Officer and Information Officer of Manaslu Conservation Area Project Office (MCAP) Bhuvanraj Ojha informed that 10,605 foreign tourists visited Manaslu area in 2024.
He said that compared to the previous year in 2023, 1,428 more foreign tourists visited Manaslu region last year. “Last year, the highest number of foreign tourists visited Manaslu.”

He said that the number of foreign tourists visiting the Manaslu region is higher than that of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries. In 2024, the highest number of foreign tourists visited the Manaslu region, 1,335, from France.
“The office’s statistics show that 1,181 German citizens and 796 American citizens were among the foreign tourists who visited Manaslu last year. Among the SAARC countries, 159 tourists from India have trekked to Manaslu,” said Officer Ojha.
Similarly, foreign tourists from countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Britain, Australia, Spain, and China visit the Manaslu region, he said. Tourists traveling on the Manaslu trekking route can visit Kulchuman (Kal) Lake, the world’s eighth highest Manaslu Mountain, and Birendra Lake towards Nubri Valley and reach Manang via Larke Pass.
Similarly, they will be able to visit the world’s most famous Shrigi Mountain, Rajen Gumba and other monasteries towards Chum Valley. Along with the natural beauty in the Manaslu region, tourists also get the opportunity to enjoy the proximity of Himchitwa, Naur, Ghoral, Danfe, Munal, and Chauri. Agency
