CAIRO. Egyptian officials have said that 16 people are missing in the Red Sea after a boat carrying tourists sank. According to them, 28 others were rescued.
It is said that 2 of the missing persons are British citizens. Finland has also confirmed that one of its tourists has gone missing in this incident. Officials also said four Egyptian nationals are missing.
44 people were on the boat. Among them, 13 were crew members. The cause of the accident is not yet known. Rescued passengers said the boat may have capsized when it was hit by waves.
The weather department had also warned against marine activities on Sunday and Monday. The boat left the Sea Story Left port near Marsa Alam on Sunday on a five-day voyage. Agency
