Patan  : Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal has said that the country’s revenue collection has increased by 10 percent over the past three months, indicating that the national economy is gradually gaining momentum.

Inaugurating the Gorkhapatra Discourse, organized by Gorkhapatra Sansthan and coordinated by the Gorkhapatra Academy here today, the Minister said that data from the past three months showed signs of economic recovery in Nepal.

He also shared that Chinese investors have praised the interim government for creating an investment-friendly environment within a short period through economic improvements.

The Finance Minister further added that the government is working in a planned manner to address liquidity issues in the economy and to further strengthen an investment-friendly atmosphere.

Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Bishwo Nath Poudel echoed the need to focus on sustainable infrastructure development to achieve overall sustainable development. He also added that Gorkhapatra’s content has contributed to broadening readers’ knowledge.

The NRB Governor urged the private business community to conduct business with high morale and expressed hope that the upcoming elections would help establish stability in the country.

According to Gorkhapatra Corporation’s General Manager Lal Bahadur Airee, the institution has, for the first time, organized the event titled “Gorkhapatra Discourse on Recovery and Resilience” with the objective of bringing together representatives from the private sector, experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders on a common platform to engage in a high-level national dialogue on Nepal’s economic recovery, investment environment, and future development strategies, and to identify key challenges and opportunities.

The inaugural discourse will include three thematic panel sessions: “Smart Infrastructure: Development and Management”, “What Kind of Morale?” and “Capital Mobilization and Policy Facilitation.” Gorkhapatra, Nepal’s first newspaper began publication in 1958 BS (1901 AD).
