The Ukrainian capital Kyiv came under a massive Russian attack today, killing one person and injuring 27 others. The attack came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prepares to meet US President Donald Trump in Florida tomorrow for further talks aimed at ending the nearly four-year-old war with Russia.
Russia’s defence ministry today said that it carried out a massive overnight strike using long-range precision weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and drones, targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and military-industrial facilities.
The ministry added, the strike came in response to Ukraine’s attacks on civilian objects in Russia. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the overnight attack knocked out power and heating in parts of Kyiv and described it as Russia’s response to U.S.-brokered peace efforts.
