Krishna Prasad Dulal has been entrusted with the responsibility of acting Chief Secretary of Nepali Congress.

Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa appointed Dulal as the acting Chief Secretary in accordance with the party statute on Wednesday.

“Dulal has been entrusted with the responsibility of acting Chief Secretary in accordance with Article 25 (10) and Rule 46 (c) of the Regulations, 2076 and Rule 14 of the Employees Regulations, 2079 of Nepali Congress until further arrangement,” said party secretary Prakash Sharma.

Earlier, Dulal was the secretary of the party.

The post was lying vacant after former Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel tendered his resignation on January 22. President Thapa has already accepted Paudel’s resignation.

Paudel had been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the party on May 9, 2016.
