Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan is all set to begin filming for his next film, Dunki, with Taapsee Pannu. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial venture is slated for release on December 22, 2023.
SRK just took to social media to announce his next – after Pathaan, of course – with the PK director. Titled Dunki, this marks SRK and Hirani’s first collaboration together.

Sharing the video, SRK wrote, “Dear @hirani.rajkumar sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga!Feeling humbled and excited to finally work with you.Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023 @taapsee @gaurikhan @redchilliesent @rhfilmsofficial (sic).”

The announcement video starts off with SRK staring at a wall full of posters of Rajkumar Hirani films. Soon, Hirani walks up to him, and SRK praises him for creating iconic characters like Sanjay Dutt’s Munnabhai MBBS and Aamir Khan’s PK.

Shah Rukh then asks Hirani if he has a script for him. Hirani says, “Ek kahani hai,” which promises oodles of comedy and emotion. What about romance, the Dil Se actor asks. “Hai sir, but aap yeh wala action avoid kijiyega,” adds Hirani, referring to SRK’s signature hands-stretched pose. “Haath hi kaat lunga main, sir aap bolo toh (I will chop off my hands, you just tell me),” SRK adds at the end.
