Kathmandu : Experts and stakeholders have asked the investors to make more investment in hydropower, tourism and information technology sectors since the investment climate in Nepal has become favourable.
In the 12th Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) Global Conference being held in Kathmandu today, the speakers pointed out the chances of increased investment from Nepali diaspora given that policy stability, confidence and institutional mechanisms were set up.
On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board of Nepal Sushil Gyawali said that collaboration between the government, NRNAs and private sector was needed while making a basis of confidence for investment in Nepal.
Gyawali shared that the Investment Board of Nepal was committed to investment facilitation adding that all should join hands to boost up investors’ confidence in the context of formation of a strong government.
Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Ram Sharan Kharel said that the time has come to link up Nepali migrant workers for the country’s sustainable economic development.
Likewise, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal said the private sector was ready to bring in investment from Nepali diaspora through policy reforms as political stability was created in Nepal.
Similarly, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Deepak Raj Joshi said that promotion of cultural tourism was needed to connect the second generation Nepalis living abroad with their communities back in Nepal.
