The Election Commission (EC) has distributed certificates to Members of Parliament (MPs) elected under the proportional representation system in the House of Representatives election held on March 5.
At a program organized by the Election Commission, certificates were handed over to 110 MPs elected through the proportional representation system from six different political parties.
In the House of Representatives elections held on March 5, six political parties won seats through proportional representation. In the proportional representation, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won 57 seats, Nepali Congress 20, CPN (UML) 16, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) 9, and Shram Sankranti Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party 4 seats each.
The 165 MPs elected through the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system were awarded certificates by the respective Chief Electoral Officer’s Office immediately after the results were made public.
