Biography of Kamala Hriaris translated in Nepali language

The biography of US Vice President Kamala Harris has been translated into Nepali language. The Nepali translation of ‘The Truth We Hold’ was released in Kathmandu on Saturday. Translator Biplav Prateek, writer-translator Saguna Shah and CEO of V Read publishing house Suniti Amatya released the book.

Before the release, Shah interacted with the translator Pratik. On the question of how he found Kamala Hariris standing on the foundation of truth, Prateek said that he found Kamala walking on the right path in every journey and struggle from the beginning. “His life is such as to give inspiration and energy to every person,” he said. Shah said that she liked the experience of Hariris about apartheid and discrimination against children and women, their situation in court. He said that issues such as the immigration movement, homosexuals, transsexuals, economic system etc. have also come with importance.

Prateek said that although the work on the book had started two years ago, it had been delayed due to various technical reasons. “I don’t really like to translate, but this translation helped me a lot to increase my Nepali vocabulary,” he said.

The book closely identifies Harris, a rights activist, social justice activist, California senator and vice president. It contains the inspiring story of Haris, the daughter of a Jamaican father and a South Indian mother, who fought for equality and the reform of the state system. The book tells how the mother Shyamala brought up her two daughters, initiated them and chose the path of showing the world by standing on the foundation of truth after the divorce between the parents of Hiaris.

She is not only the first female vice president of America, but also the first black vice president. Harris observed the various challenges faced by the American people. Through her career and the work of people who inspire her, she has shared with the world the picture of struggle, purpose, and value of life, portraying the knowledge and insight she has gained with hard work and wisdom.
