Kathmandu. An accused involved in the murder of Bangladeshi parliamentarian Anwarul Azim Ana, who was found dead in Kolkata, India, has been arrested in Kathmandu.
Dhaka Tribune, an English daily of Bangladesh, has written a news saying that a man named Saim Hussain involved in the murder has been arrested in Kathmandu. It is said in the news that a diplomatic effort is also being made to bring back those involved in the murder of the ruling Awami League MP Azim through the Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal.
Nepali security sources have also confirmed that they have searched Nepal after receiving information about the murder of a Bangladeshi MP. According to a senior official, the operation is still going on in coordination with Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepalese police. A four-member team from Detective Branch (DB) under Metropolitan Police Office, Dhaka came to Kathmandu.
DB chief Harunor Rashid also told reporters in Dhaka that he heard that Saim was arrested in Kathmandu. “Other accused may also have escaped and gone to Nepal, after looking at everything, we are going to Kathmandu”, he said to the journalists.
He had come to Kolkata for medical treatment and had been out of touch since 30th Baisakh. As soon as he became uncontactable, Delhi Police Special Cell and Intelligence Bureau (IB) officers coordinated with Nepalese security officers in the search.
However, a week later, he was found dead in a Kolkata apartment. Soon after, the Indian police also arrested four Bangladeshis. It was seen that he was brutally murdered. During the investigation, the Indian police claimed that it was seen that more people involved in it went to Nepal
