Iran denies involvement in Trump assassination attempt

Tehran. Iran on Wednesday rejected the malicious accusations made by the American media saying that it was involved in the plot to attack the former US President Donald Trump. CNN reported Tuesday that US officials had received classified information from a human source a few weeks ago about an alleged Iranian plot against the former president.

However, CNN reported that Saturday’s shooting at Trump’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where the former president was injured and one of his supporters was killed, was not related to the alleged Iranian plot.

The US National Security Council has said it has been monitoring Iran for years after Tehran threatened to retaliate for the 2020 killing of Revolutionary Guards commander Qasem Soleimani in a US drone attack.

The United Nations Mission to Iran called the allegations unproven and malicious. “Iran vehemently denies any involvement in the recent armed attacks against Trump. But Iran is determined to prosecute the murder of General Qasem Soleimani, in which Trump had a direct role, Nasir Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said. Agency
