Washington DC. American astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore will have to wait for more time to land on the earth. The American space agency NASA has said that it will take more time for them to return home.
Both of them went to the International Space Station (ISS) last June for 8 days. After problems with the Boeing Starline vehicle that they boarded, the plan to return them was repeatedly canceled.
After spending a few months in space, the plane came back to earth. NASA had confirmed that they would return the two in February next year on the vehicle of American billionaire businessman Elon Musk’s space exploration company SpaceX. But due to the delay in the launch of the new spacecraft to the ISS, the pair of astronauts will not return until the end of March or April.
NASA has said that the delay will not pose any risk to the lives of both. In November, NASA had couriered cargo to the ISS twice for the two. They are said to have enough food, water, clothing and oxygen. Most space missions last for five months. Some even last a full year.
Some even last for a whole year.
Butch and Sunita, who went only for eight days, said that there would be no problem in extending the stay of Dr. Open University. Simeon Barber says. A new crew will have to be sent to the ISS before the two arrive. NASA has said that the mission has been pushed back by a month and a half. NASA is sending a group of astronauts to ISS in February 2025 only. Sunita and Butch will return to Earth in the same spaceship carrying the astronauts. Agency
