Israel and Hamas agree to a cease-fire in Gaza.

 Kathmandu, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease-fire in Gaza and the release of hostages. This agreement between Israel and Hamas has been finalized in Qatar. This information was given by a source familiar with the ceasefire agreement to the BBC.

A Hamas official told the BBC that he had informed mediators in Qatar and Egypt that Hamas had ratified the ceasefire agreement.

The war in Gaza has been going on since 2023. Hamas took 251 hostages in an October 2023 attack on Israel. Currently, Hamas only has 94 Israeli hostages left. Israel says only 60 of these hostages are alive.
