Kathmandu: Formal process has started to operate direct air service between Nepal and the United States. A preliminary agreement has been reached between the aviation regulators of Nepal and the United States.

An initial agreement was reached after a high-level meeting and discussion between the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAN) and the US Federal Aviation Administration at the 57th Asia-Pacific Heads of Aviation Regulatory Conference in Korea.
