Gaza. The Israeli army (IDF) says that about 500,000 people have left northern Gaza. IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus claimed that about five million people have left northern Gaza and that Hamas is creating difficulties for those who want to leave the northern territory.
He said the IDF has created two safe evacuation routes for civilians and that it will be unsafe for civilians to live in Gaza City as the military operation continues. However, 70 people were killed in Friday’s bomb blast on the road that the Israeli army declared a safe rescue.
When Conricus was asked about the bombing, he reiterated that the IDF does not actively target civilians. However, during the press briefing, he also indicated that civilian casualties cannot be completely prevented in the operation
