All-party meet in Birgunj ends with four-point decision to keep social goodwill intact

Birgunj : An-all party meeting held in Birgunj on Friday concluded with a four-point decision aimed at keeping intact the peace, security, social goodwill and order in the district.

Chief District Office of Parsa, Bhola Dahal, who also serves as the Chair of District Security Committee, presided the meeting that ended with the decision to make wide-ranging and collective efforts in maintaining peace, security and order across the district intact, according to House of Representatives (HoR) member and meeting participant Hari Panta.

The sitting also went through the review of recent incidents that took place in Sunsari, Siraha and various other districts, assessing comprehensively the present situation in Parsa.

The meeting decided to appeal to religious leaders from the Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian and others, as well as the community leaders and organizations to promote patience, tolerance, communal harmony and peace within their respective communities.

As per the decision of the meeting, a peace rally was held in the town with participation of the people from all walks of life. The meeting also urged local media including FM Radio and newspapers, social sites users and various organisations not to publish and disseminate any content capable of spreading fear and terror in the society.

The meeting agreed to urge the entire media sector through the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) to prioritise news and messages that promote peace, social unity and goodwill.

People from all walks of life have been urged to contribute from the respective positions to maintain peace, security, and social goodwill so that adversity would be eliminated.
