Kathmandu: Around one million people from across the world converged at plains of Arafat in Saudi Arabia today for the main ritual of Haj.
More than 79 thousand pilgrims from India also performed Haj as Saudi authorities allowed some eight lakh fifty thousand pilgrims from outside the Kingdom to participate first time after the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
The pilgrims wearing Ehraam or seamless white robes listened the Haj- Sermon and offered afternoon and mid-day prayers together at Nimra mosque.
Haj pilgrims will now be leaving for Muzdalifah and offer evening and night prayers together.
The pilgrims will collect the pebbles for stoning the three concrete pillars representing devil.
They will spend the night there under the open sky and return to Mina tomorrow morning for animal sacrifice and symbolic stoning of the devil.
