Balen Shah has officially filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives from Jhapa-5 on Tuesday afternoon. Shah submitted his nomination at the Election Officer’s office located in Ward No. 8 of Damak Municipality. A significant turnout of party workers and supporters was seen during the registration, with many arriving in rallies and chanting slogans in support of Shah. The constituency is set for a high-profile contest as Shah will face CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, generating heightened political activity and public interest in Damak. Considering the large crowd and political significance, authorities deployed a strong security presence around the nomination site to maintain order.
