Balen Shah to be sworn in as Prime Minister of Nepal today

Nepal is preparing to usher in a new political leadership today, as Balendra (Balen) Shah is set to be sworn in as Prime Minister.

President Ram Chandra Paudel is expected to administer the oath of office and secrecy to Balen Shah, senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas in Kathmandu this afternoon.

Prior to the ceremony, Shah’s appointment as Prime Minister will be formally announced. The new government will be formed in accordance with Article 76 (Clause 1) of the Constitution of Nepal.
