Biden’s surprising decision to withdraw from the White House race in 2024 was welcomed by the crowd of well-wishers gathered at the conference with a thunderous applause. Referring to Donald Trump, Biden said that “he has no problem with leaving office”.

Addressing the sentiments of the Democrats asking for resignation, he said, “I should be grateful, not angry, to everyone who worries about my party and country and that the leadership should not go to the wrong person.”
After the introduction of first lady Jill Biden and daughter Ashley, when Biden and Harris entered the stage, they were greeted with a four-minute long applause, and both Biden and Harris wiped away tears in response. Before leaving the stage to the song ‘Higher Love’, Biden gave a farewell speech, and many people in the audience seemed to be filled with tears.
