Becoming emotional in parting, Biden said: America, I have done the best for you as much as possible

Chicago. US President Joe Biden has handed over the responsibility of the party to the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, saying that she has given everything for the country as far as her strength goes, at the party convention in Chicago. At the moment of parting, he hugged Vice President Harris and wished him good luck for the elections to be held in November.
“America, I did everything I could for you,” said 81-year-old Biden, quoting a patriotic poem during his almost hour-long speech. He also urged voters in November to broadly support the vice president against Donald Trump.
Biden’s surprising decision to withdraw from the White House race in 2024 was welcomed by the crowd of well-wishers gathered at the conference with a thunderous applause. Referring to Donald Trump, Biden said that “he has no problem with leaving office”.
In the US presidential election in 2020, some of the leaders of the US Republican Party were not happy with the behavior of the then President Trump when he left office saying that the election was rigged. Harris has succeeded in addressing the concerns of Democrats who have expressed concern about the election of the Democratic Party due to Biden’s poor performance and reactivating the party.
As he pondered the impending end of his five-decade long political career, he said he did what he could to ensure the Trump administration would not return to the Oval Office. “I love politics, but I love my country more,” Biden said, stressing that his resignation from the presidential candidacy was for the good of America. Addressing the sentiments of the Democrats asking for resignation, he said, “I should be grateful, not angry, to everyone who worries about my party and country and that the leadership should not go to the wrong person.”
After the introduction of first lady Jill Biden and daughter Ashley, when Biden and Harris entered the stage, they were greeted with a four-minute long applause, and both Biden and Harris wiped away tears in response. Before leaving the stage to the song ‘Higher Love’, Biden gave a farewell speech, and many people in the audience seemed to be filled with tears.
