Kathmandu :  Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has congratulated Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and senior party leader Balen Shah for their success in Nepal’s House of Representatives elections.

In a message shared on social media on Tuesday, Tobgay praised the leaders for their electoral victory and expressed hope that the warm friendship between Bhutan and Nepal would continue to deepen.

He also expressed respect for Nepal’s democratic process and voiced confidence that bilateral relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming days.

“Heartfelt congratulations to Balen Shah and Rabi Lamichhane on securing a historic victory in Nepal’s general elections. I would also like to congratulate the people of Nepal for successfully conducting the elections. I look forward to further strengthening the warm friendship between our two countries,” Tobgay said in his message.

Earlier on Monday evening, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with Lamichhane and Shah over the phone to congratulate them on their electoral success.
