Kathmandu. The private airline company Buddha Air has brought in the 18th ATR aircraft. The new aircraft that landed in Kathmandu on Friday is of the ATR 72-500 series with a capacity of 72 seats. With this, the number of ATR-72 series aircraft with Buddha has reached 15. Buddha Air said that the new aircraft will be brought into regular flight service from next July after completing the necessary paperwork.
Buddha got the new aircraft registration number 9N-ANZ. This plane was brought from Toulouse, France. Now Buddha has three ATR42-320 and 15 ATR72-500 series aircraft with a capacity of 47 seats.
Buddha’s market director Rupesh Joshi said that the aircraft has been added in line with the commitment to make air travel easy and simple. Joshi said, “We will continue to operate the flight schedule with more and more efficiency. According to him, there is a plan to fly one more flight to Dhangadhi and Surkhet from July 1 with the new aircraft added.
Currently, there are two daily flights to Dhangadhi and Surkhet. Budha plans to increase the number of flights to other destinations from the added aircraft. The company says that the added aircraft will also help in regular maintenance. Budha currently operates more than 150 domestic flights daily.
It is flying internationally from Kathmandu to Banaras, India. Similarly, inter-province flights are also being operated from Pokhara to Chitwan, Bhairahawa and Nepalganj.
