China offers Rs 580 million in aid for upcoming HoR election in Nepal

Kathamandu:  Chinese government has expressed interest in providing financial assistance to support the electoral process.

According to sources at the Ministry of Finance, China has proposed an aid package of approximately Rs 580 million. Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal confirmed that a proposal for financial support has been received from China, though he clarified that a formal agreement has not yet been signed.

China is the latest international partner to offer assistance, joining several other nations and organizations that have already committed resources to ensure the smooth conduct of the polls.
