Kathmandu- French President Emmanuel Macron has dissolved the parliament. With the dissolution of the Parliament, he announced the election of the lower house National Assembly in two phases on June 30 and July 7.
After right-wing parties defeated Macron’s centrist coalition in the European Union elections, he decided to suddenly dissolve parliament.
According to the BBC, he dissolved the parliament after the National Rally of his rival Marine Le Pen won a big victory in the European Parliament vote.
Exit polls show that the right-wing party is on track to win 32 percent of the vote. Which is twice as many votes as the Renaissance party of Cacron.
Macron made the dramatic and surprising announcement on television from the Elysee Palace an hour after voting closed in France’s EU elections and exit polls were announced.
Jordan Bardella, the 28-year-old leader of the National Rally, called on the president to call for parliamentary elections, and he dissolved parliament and announced elections. Macron still had 2 years left to complete his term.
