Foreign Minister Deuba meets UAE minister

Kathmandu- Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Finance and Trade Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), had a courtesy meeting with Arju Rana Deuba in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on Sunday. The two leaders, who are in Muscat, Oman to participate in the 8th Indian Ocean Summit, held a sideline meeting today.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE as well as various issues of labor, tourism and economic development and the necessary cooperation to minimize the effects of climate change. On the occasion, Minister Deuba expressed special gratitude to the UAE government through Minister Sayegh for providing employment to Nepali human resources. On the occasion, Minister Sayegh praised the great contribution of Nepali human resources to the economic and social development of the UAE.
Among them, there was also a discussion about future cooperation and investment between the two countries in the fields of tourism, economic development, and business partners. Minister Deuba had urged Minister Sayegh to start direct flights from Dubai, UAE to Nepal’s Pokhara International Airport. Minister Sayegh expressed his commitment to start the technical study on this issue immediately and move forward with the plan to start the flight.
Also, during the meeting, Minister Deuba informed that Nepal has organized the Everest Dialogue in Kathmandu in May as a global dialogue platform to discuss serious issues of regional and global importance and invited the UAE to participate in the dialogue which will focus on the climate change situation.
