In the Birgunj city of Nepal, an indefinite curfew was imposed yesterday after two communities got involved in a clash, following a demonstration. Chief District Officer of Parsa District Dinesh Sagar Bhushan said in a statement that a curfew was imposed because the clashes might pose a threat to people’s security.
A similar clash was reported four days ago in Rautahat district when two groups pelted stones on each other after a procession on the occasion of Saraswati puja. Curfew was imposed later to normalise the situation.
