India’s industrial output grew by 5.9 percent in May

India’s factory activity growth, measured by the industrial production index, rose 5.9 percent in May, government data showed. According to the data released by the Federal Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, the flash estimate of IIP for the month of May 2024 with Aadhaar 2011-12 was 154.2 as against 145.6 in May 2023.
In May 2024, the index of industrial production of mining, manufacturing and power sector was 136.5, 149.7 and 229.3 respectively, the data showed. IIP showed a 5 percent growth in April.
