Kathmandu : The commission formed to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 has lifted the travel restrictions imposed on former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
According to Section Officer Resham Budha Kshetri, the commission’s meeting on Friday revoked the earlier decision that had barred Lekhak from travelling abroad and from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without prior approval.
The commission has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs informing it of the decision. Copies of the letter have also been forwarded to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal Police Headquarters, and to Lekhak himself.
Earlier, on Asoj 12, the commission had restricted Lekhak’s foreign travel, stating that he was under the scope of investigation in connection with the Bhadra 23–24 incidents. Lekhak had given his statement to the commission a few days ago.
