International Buddhist Conference at Lumbini from Saturday

Lumbini. The Lumbini Buddhist University Faculty of Buddhist Studies is going to organize an international Buddhist seminar in Lumbini from tomorrow. Dr. Manikaratna Shakya, Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, informed that experts from different countries will present working papers on the relevance of Buddhist education to address global challenges in the symposium to be held at the Lumbini Buddhist University Central Office and discuss it.
Dean Shakya said that the symposium was organized because people around the world are going through environmental crisis, global warming, ecological imbalance and physical and psychological problems, and there is a need to find the relevance of Buddhist teachings from the birthplace of Buddha.
It is said that Buddhist monks and experts from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Bangladesh, India, Taiwan, Portugal, France and other countries will present their papers in the seminar held at the Buddha’s birthplace. The symposium will discuss and debate the importance of Buddhist education, the preservation and development of Buddhist sites including Lumbini, and the educational programs of Buddhist universities. It is said that there will also be a group discussion on Buddhist philosophy and yoga in the seminar.
The seminar will discuss what forms of Buddhist education are needed to address contemporary global challenges, how Lumbini Buddhist University can contribute to the spread of such education, and what kinds of courses people around the world expect.

Focusing on the importance of Buddhist education, it is believed that it will contribute to providing information about the educational programs provided by Lumbini Buddhist University and to address the complex problems faced by humans.
