Kathamandu: Scheduled to take place from 5th–14th March 2022, the Jaipur Literature Festival is back to its customary home, the pink city of Jaipur, for its 15th edition.

The rich programme will begin each day with the calming strains of Morning Music. On the first day of the on-ground Festival from 10th-14th March 2022, the stage will be graced by Ujwal Nagar, a promising Hindustani Classical vocalist from Delhi. The following day will showcase Aastha Goswami, an Indian classical singer and composer adept at singing in 17 different Indian languages. The Aahvaan Project will perform on the third day of the Festival, presenting the philosophy of love, humanity and kindness and creating a space for harmony with their unique ability of storytelling through music.

The fourth day of the Festival will see a breathtaking performance by Hindustani Classical vocalist from the Dagar Gharana, Smt. Sombala Kumar. On the concluding day of the ‘greatest literary show on earth’, academic and musician Priya Kanungo will serenade audiences with Indian Classical music, bringing out mindfulness to celebrate the essence of India’s diverse musical heritage.

Apart from musical mornings, the much-loved literary festival offers a mesmerising Heritage Evening on 13th March at Ganesh Pol, Amer Fort. The special event will feature Kalapini Komkali, a well-trained and widely recognised classical vocalist of the younger generation, and daughter and disciple of the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva. In addition, the majestic evening at Amer Fort will feature a soul-stirring performance by leading dancer and choreographer in the Indian Classical dance form of Kathak, Aditi Mangaldas, a former student of the master of Kathak Natya – the late Pandit Birju Maharaj.

Ending the evening on a spectacular note, a fashion show will be presented by the students of ARCH School of Design, Jaipur. Set up in the 2000s, the ARCH School of Design emphasises on entrepreneurship and skill–based courses that impart knowledge and practice of the business aspects of the creative industry.
