Kathmandu has surged to the third spot among the world’s most polluted cities, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) hitting 159 on Friday afternoon.

This places the capital in the “Unhealthy for All” category, posing serious health risks, especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory or heart conditions.

According to AQI records, Hanoi, Vietnam tops the global pollution list at 165, followed by Lahore, Pakistan, at 162.
