Krishna Prasad Yadav has been appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province. On Friday, Madhesh Province Chief Dr. Surendra Lav Karna appointed Yadav, the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party in Madhesh, to the post.
Earlier in the day, seven parties submitted their claim to the Province Chief along with letters of support from 77 Provincial Assembly members, recommending Yadav as Chief Minister. Yadav has secured support from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Janamat Party, CPN (Maoist Centre), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist).

Province Chief Surendra Labh Karn appointed Yadav to the post of the Chief Minister as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, the Province Assembly Secretariat stated.
