Kathmandu : Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal has said that the ministry is currently working to chart out the country-focused strategic plan of action.

At the Ministry-level Development Action Committee organized here today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he informed that different divisions within the ministry are working for the formulation of country-focused strategic action plan.

“Work is in progress in a way to strengthen the bilateral strategy. We will work focusing on how Nepal can reap maximum benefits from concerned countries through this strategy.”

The ministry has put up its efforts to chalk out strategic plan by mapping the definite priority areas of the concerned countries and keeping them at the center, Khanal said.

Foreign Minister Khanal further shared that difficulties are being experienced regarding the policy and plan formulation, and implementation due to unavailability of data of Nepali people living abroad.

He stressed the need to ascertain the number of Nepali people living abroad by devising a campaign to that end.

Also present on the occasion were Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr Gunakar Bhatta, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, representatives of the foreign ministry and other ministries.
