Nepal: 13 charged over arson and vandalism at government offices during Gen-Z protest

The Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office has filed a case against 13 individuals accused of setting fire to government offices, including the Supreme Court of Nepal, during the Gen-Z protest on September 9. The case was registered at the Kathmandu District Court on Tuesday on charges of criminal mischief and robbery-related offenses, according to Information Officer Deepak Adhikari. Those charged with setting fire to the Supreme Court include Sunil Shrestha, Jyoti Thapa, Binod Kumar Thapa Magar, Kumar Parajuli and Raju Pariyar. The charge sheet states that the arson at the court building caused damage worth Rs 1.23 billion.
