The government has approved the agreement reached on Wednesday between Prime Minister Sushila Karki and representatives of the Gen-Z movement.

During a Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday, ministers decided to ratify the accord and publish it in the official gazette, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel informed.

The meeting also directed the concerned ministries to prioritize the agreement’s implementation. According to Kharel, the Cabinet further decided to expand the mandate of the Gen-Z Movement Investigation Commission in line with the terms of the accord.

In another decision, the Cabinet approved the promotion of Pushkar Sapkota, currently serving as First-Class Deputy Secretary in the Nepal Judicial Service Law Group at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), to the gazetted Special Class of the Nepal Judicial Service and appointed him as Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Kharel also informed that the report of the committee tasked with assessing damages and preparing a reconstruction plan for public infrastructure affected during the Gen-Z movement has been submitted to the Prime Minister.
