Kathmandu : The Nepal Oil Corporation has urged one and all to purchase and use only necessary amount of petroleum products and cooking gas.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, the NOC requested not to refill extra gas cylinders, store unnecessary gas cylinders, urging to increase the consumption of electricity instead of cooking gas.

It has clarified that some protective measures should be adopted in consumption of petroleum products and cooking gas in the current situation, as Nepal is completely depend on imports of petroleum products.

Action would be taken if someone is found involved in holding gas cylinders unnecessarily, selling cooking gas and petroleum products in high price and selling new cylinders, according to NOC.

“The consumption of petroleum products and LP gas should be decreased for industrial use. The import and sale of petroleum products is now regular. We request everyone to purchase and avoid unnecessary storage of fuel keeping in mind the possibility of that Nepal cannot be immune from global impact due to problems surfaced in Middle-East,” reads the statement.
