Newly-elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah ( Balen) takes oath and assumes his office in Kathmandu , Nepal on Monday 30 May 2022. At the oath-taking ceremony on Monday, mayor Balendra Shah announced his priority to focus on the waste management problem in Kathmandu and to live telecast the executive meetings of the City.
Kathmandu’s newly elected mayor Balen Shah has decided to broadcast all meetings of the city government‘s executive body meetings live. Mayor Shah made the decision today as soon as he assumed his office after taking the oath of office and secrecy. During his election campaign also, Balen Shah had repeatedly promised to broadcast all the meetings live to promote transparency and good governance.
