Seoul – As military relations between Moscow and Pyongyang deepen, North Korea has given Russia 200 long-range artillery pieces, a South Korean defense ministry official said on Tuesday. North Korea has given Moscow “about 11,000 soldiers, missiles, 200 long-range artillery pieces and a large amount of ammunition,” said the official.

“North Korea may supply additional troops, weapons and ammunition in the coming days,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. Seoul, Kiev and Washington have said that North Korea sent more than 10,000 troops to Russia to help the Kremlin in its war against Ukraine last year.

Ukraine had already said that some North Korean soldiers had been captured or killed in Kusk. President Volodymyr Zelensky has also released the footage of the interrogation of North Korean prisoners who were said to have been captured by the Ukrainian army on the Kusk front.

Neither Moscow nor Pyongyang have confirmed the deployment. However, during a rare visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to nuclear-armed North Korea last year, the two countries signed an agreement with a mutual defense clause. Agency
